“Our room was perfect. Had our little dog with us. Enjoyed bathing in the claw tub while watching the fire and the water. Very romantic setting. Staff was awesome. Thanks for a great stay.”

“The room was the smallest room I've ever stayed in, and had a country feel that isn't my style. It was difficult for 2 people to maneuver around the room at the same time. The bathroom was decent sized, but the half-open shower let in too much cold air. I liked the scent of the bath products, and even bought some in the gift shop. The bar was much more modern, and got busy on Friday and Saturday nights. The 2 different bands that played that weekend were both great, and the service and drinks were excellent there. The view from the hotel is wonderful, and is close enough to everything to walk, but not right in the middle of everything, so beware if that's what you want. ”

“The staff was friendly on check in and I know why. They don't tell you about all the hidden charges that get tacked on your bill at check out. A fee for internet service. The last time I looked at a Motel 6, they provided free internet service. The valet charges are not mentioned either. The room had a king size bed that was too soft for my taste. The shower was decent for one could have be larger for two people. Regulating the water temp was a on going adjustment while in the shower. The room was on the city side so the late night train and people coming in from a night on the town tend to keep one awake. There is no happy hour Friday & Saturday nights which is when they appear to do most of their business. I would not go back and if someone asks about the Edgewater, I'll be honest about my experience and would recommend another hotel in the downtown Seattle area.”

“the housekeeping, restaurant and valet staff were helpful; noone else seemed particularly interested in presenting a friendly or helpful demeanor. the room was spacious and the fireplace was nice. but the bed was very soft and not comfortable and the shower was a great design, but too small. I found the temperature hard to regulate with the fireplace on timer, the window open for fresh air. also they charge for everything. the charge to park a car there is completely unreasonable. overall, I had a fine time, but I would not go back nor would I recommend it.”

“Very nice location. For the price I thought I was going to receive the best in customer service. This was not the case. Took an unopened bottle of champagne from my fridge while during cleaning. The front desk told me they could do nothing to replace. Hours later they finally found it. Still not impressed.”

“This is definitely the place to stay if you're planning a trip on the Victoria Clipper as the Clipper's pier is right next door. My sister and I enjoyed the hotel's unique decor and atmosphere and had wonderful service in the relaxing, waterfront lounge. You know you're in the Pacific Northwest when you stay at the Edgewater. I recommend it.”

“The room was clean and decorated nicely. After a long conversation with the front desk they did comp our valet parking, finally gave us vouchers for breakfast. A couple things that is not on the website is the $36.95 per day valet parking, $9.95 per day for Wifi and even charging for a daily paper that is left in front of your door! Also, the 4PM check in is rather late. Because of our experience, it would be hard to encourage friends to spend a night here. ”

“Would be nice to return the fishing experience!”

“All good including the food in the Six Server restaurant, but the service from the person who arranged the seat in the restaurant was very bad, even though there were some vacancy seats, I was still arranged to a bad seat, I said to them I did not feel confirmatable when seating there, they said all seats were reserved, which was a lie, after I finished my dinner ( one hour after) and went back to the restaurant again after another half hour, no one was on the vacancy tables there.”

“I had a wonderful stay at the "E". I live in Chicago and have a house in Seattle that was having some work done. Stayed at the Edgewater 20 yrs ago and received the same great service now as I did then. Would highly recommend this hotel to everyone. Close to shopping, food, Pike's market, ferries etc. I'll be back!”

“The Edgewater's 60's connection comes through with just the right touch of subtlety. The celebrity photo lounge, the light show in the 67 club, etc.. Appreciate architectural left overs from the 60's too. Such as the green linoleum in the stairwells. Staff are great. Even the guests were friendly.”

“My family lives in the Seattle area and I've always wanted to stay at the Edgewater. The views of the Sound are fabulous! Love the fireplace in each of the rooms. Great touch! The shower area is like washing yourself in the outdoors-only very private. My grandson only wishes there was a swimming pool-but he's 6 years old-what do you expect. We would recommend to anyone as everything is within walking distance.”

“I had an excellent weekend at the Edgewater. The staff was courteous and professional. Loved the bartenders.”

“I would recomend this hotel but not for bussiness the hotel is pricy and having to PAY $10 every 24 hours for internet is a scam, even the cheapest hotel gives its guest a code to use this was not good policy, even the staff was embarassed.”

“First off I agree the hotel is lovely and the staff very friendly...but we had a reservation several days in advance for dinner, on a Wednesday even, and we wound up sitting in the dark next to the kitchen door. I couldn't even see the menu, and all the server said was, "Yeah, I know it's dark back here." The room was cute and the view lovely...but the hallways were old and grubby and we could hear our neighbor talking, as if she was in the room with us, all night long.”

“The staff and room were wonderful. Especially the valets. They helped us a lot in getting us to our activities for the weekend. Brunch was delicious the next morning and our waitress was smiley, attentive and friendly. The only problem I had was that we could only stay for one night!”

“Will request waterside view next time. Trains and delivery trucks very noisy on the City side. Everything else was perfect. All the staff, including housekeeping, were friendly and courtious. ”

“Because we stayed at the Edgewater last year, we were upgraded to an ocean-view room with a balcony that opened out to the ocean. We ate at the hotel restaurant for dinner and breakfast the next day, and both meals were excellent. The service was excellent, including the valet parking. I would recommend this hotel to all our friends and family. ”

“We thru the years have selected Edgewater over 12 times for THE Seattle experience. Our first nite was in a side-view room of a dock..BAD for $300...upon request we were changed the next nite to front view...good. We booked over a month in advance. ...for VIEW...liked the updated bathrooms!”

“The hotel is lovely, clean and convenient to the waterfront, market, restaurants, ferries and cruise lines. Just make sure you request a room on the water. Not for the views as much as to get away from the trains which run (loudly) by a few times throughout the night. They did provide earplugs in our city side room but nothing would have shut out the trains and the train signals.”

“Great place to stay. Location excellent. Most staff exactly what you would hope for. English fellow on desk was a bit robotic and not genuine to us...but did his job well. Overall costs about 20% higher than I would have hoped....and having to pay for parking was MOST dis-appointing after spending so much for everything else. My wife grew up near a railroad so the constant trains was actually soothing. Fireplace didn't work as advertised...I called and got more directions which didn't work. They were willing to fix, but by then it was late enough it didn't matter.”

“The staff needs to tell guests, when they give them a room near the railroad crossing, that a train will pass every 30 minutes all night and the crossing bells wil ding every time one does. Also, our thermostat didn't work correctly and our room got very hot. The hotel was beautiful but we were sweaty and exhausted after our one-night stay.”

“Seattle hotels in the busy seasons are surprisingly expensive and if you want to stay downtown, within walking distance of everything, but in a place that's not too, too busy, and is safe and secure, the Edgewater is worth the price as it's a singular experience as well as a hotel. The service does not get better anywhere and the interior design is amazing; the beds are great and the shower/bathroom is really fun. Splurge on a first floor oceanside room if you can get one. Restaurant service and food is fabulous, but small, pretty portions. Lots of great restaurants down the way, including Eliot's Oysters (I think #3 of the top ten seafood restaurants in the U.S.). One difference between the Edgewater and other high end Seattle hotels is that everything extra costs extra and is expensive. this is the third time we've stayed there and the extras always rack up, even though we've learned to ask. But it's like the best of a lodge/spa/high-end hotel experience in a great location in a great city. ”

“The TV didn't want to go to FREE TV. Probably OK as we were very tired. When I got home and checked my bank statment I noticed I was duned for an additional $110 !!”

“Stayed here one night after our cruise, June 3, 2011. Loved the tub with the sliding doors that opened it up so you could see ut into the bay as you relax in the tub. Hotel was clean, was surprised to find such a rustic cabin decor. Would have expected something nautical rather than what I would expect to find in the mountains. Only real problem was the lighting was so dim it was difficult to apply makeup and tell if my hair was ok. Voiced concern to staff. All staff were helpful. Could not find ice bucket and coffee pot which were stored in the cabinet, had to ask. Would have preferred them easily visible. No serious complaints and will stay again if we cruise out of seattle. Location excellent for cruise ships.”

“All was most enjoyable with one, rather serious objection. We stayed two nights, Tuesday and Wednesday, May 24 and 25, checking out Thursday morning to catch the Victoria Clipper. My wife had failed to pick up a rather valuable, tan leather notebook. When returning on the 30th, receiving a very pleasant surprise of a room looking out onto the bay, we were told to call housekeepink/lost and found to retrieve the lost item. We called several times between 4 and 5 with NO RESPONSE whatever. I called the front desk and they said they would send them an email so informing them of our need and that they were to contact us. Again, NO RESPONSE!!! So now we our without this valuable, personal leather notebook. A shameful way for customers to be treated to say the least. Meals and service , on the other hand, could not have been better.”

“The reception desk was very nice, professional and made a weary traveller feel at home. All other employees that we encountered took the time to greet us and were friendly also. Thanks for the great smiles! The accomodations were great and a good value and excellent for the proximity to the Clipper to our next destination of Victoria.”

“The Valet parking @$68 a night for a rental car is excessive!!!”

“This place was expensive because of location, but there wasn't anything special about it otherwise. They charged extra for everything... parking (valet only and REALLY expensive), wifi, shampoo...and they even said we took things from the mini bar that we didn't touch. It was clean, but it's near the train tracks so, not quiet. I think there are probably much better hotel experiences around for the price.”

“The room was just lovely, small by some standards but perfect for our needs. Decor was wonderful with the fireplace, log bed and stone shower, the room was much nicer than expected. All the staff was terrific to us, from check-in, room clean staff, through lunch and check-out. Our only regret is that they don't provide free wi-fi in the rooms, but there is a business center on 2nd floor with 2 computers, so this isn't a very large negative. We had a wonderful stay and will come again.”

“Great location. Environmentally conscious. Friendly staff and good Happy Hour. Negative was that they only offer valet parking. I also did not care for the log cabin decor, but in spite of the parking issue, I will return.”

“Fireplace did not work for 1/2 of our stay, although 2 different maintenance people were courteous in their attempts to fix. Explanation by the desk clerks regarding the unusual thermostat would be useful. This was our first time on the city-side of the hotel and the views were terrific and serene though we were in the center of city. We liked the stocked mini-frig, but suggest charging a flat rate per day for the contents (thus keeping more purchases inside the hotel). We have recommended the Edgewater to friends and will do so again.”
