Worth the price

“Found it impressive and certainly worth the price tag. We were given the luxury of space inside the rooms along with posh amenities. Food was another major highlight especially the morning buffet. Beach was a few steps away.” – Arthur Pace

  • What a location!!!!

“The room was great & the service was very professional & friendly. Right across from the water and not far are restaurants & other amenities.”

  • Room 433 needs help

“The hotel and grounds are great. Hotel staff was great. Room 433 needs more water pressure in the shower and generally an update in the room. Closet doors are shaky and the blinds flip closed easily. Mattress was way too soft, it seemed almost worn out. ”

“Room fine starbucks line 45minutes with one gal working sunday am expected better service (she worked hard)”

  • maybe

“So-so room, nothing to write home about. Room service (asking for an extra blanket) took 2 calls and over an hour--- also had to call them as they were going to charge for something out of the in room bar that we did not use.”

  • Great Get Away !

“The Hotel staff was excellent. Very helpful & courteous. The hotel is very clean & yes I would recommend Fess Parkers's DoubleTree Resort & Inn. We stayed here once before That's why we came back. Thank you.”

  • Experiences have varied but great location

“We stayed in the Gardenia section, ground floor, over Christmas Eve this time. We’ve stayed at the hotel three times. Our experiences have been uneven, but certainly not awful. PROS: The hotel is comfortable and self-contained, with multiple on-site services. The hotel grounds are across the street from the beach, with easy access. Parking is ample and valet help is efficient. Overall, I’ve felt the staff was very good and helpful with anything I needed. CONS: The hotel is beginning to look a bit worn. The room was clean, but the showerhead was low and stream not forceful. The Wi-Fi Internet of about $13/day is steep considering the growing standard of free access along with the base room prices. Noise is a problem, depending on your luck or the train schedule. The room walls are not soundproofed very well, and the Santa Barbara Amtrak spur carries both freight and passenger traffic day and night, about 75-100 yards behind the hotel. We were not facing that way, but it was very noticable. ”

  • Hotel Review

“Room and staff very good. Noticed for a hotel in this price range that the tile in the bathroom was in bad shape. Tiles coming loose, grout missing and in general need of replacing. ”

  • California fun

“Room was clean but rugs and trim are ageing and tattered. I figure California is so over burdened with taxes and social programs that they can't renovate their hotels, making them look very much like europeon hotels. Unless you can afford $600 a night, your room will resemble a motel 6 . The beds were very comfortable and linens top notch. Staff was great. ”

  • Hotel Review

“Our party of four were delighted with our too short stay at your hotel. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast buffet environment was beautiful, the service pleasant and helpful, the food plentiful and well priced. We enjoyed the Mission architecture and the pool area - in fact, well pleased with our choice altogether. ”

“Very nice location, exceptional staff, pleasant experience, good dining locations nearby...overall a wonderful weekend, and highly recommend for others. ”

  • could be better

“the place needs a facelift. things are beat up and tired. room service is a rip off. first night we order room service the fellow came and i tipped him $7 on a $31 dinner. i thought i was a nice guy. the next time my wife ordered i happened to look at the in room menue and notice the following-there is a 16% gratuity added, there is a $5 service charge added and the guy takes the tip and doesn't tell you there is one already included in the bill. to top it off there is a gratuity line on the bill you sign. i say i was stupid and your were dishonest. completely, unabashedly dishonest. won't stay there again. i'm sure this review won't get posted. you won't be able to rip as many people off.”

  • Hotel Review

“Staff very helpful, room clean and well furnished. Good location.”

  • Not worth the price

“The first night we had to call security twice because of a loud neighbor. We were moved to another room the next day after having to check with the front desk three times to see if the room was ready. As it turned out, the second room wasn't any better. The room was above the bar patio. We had to listen to people partying until 11 P.M. My wife tried to get her nails done at your salon. She was told nobody had the time and that they were all booked up even though no one else was there. Then she was told to come back 20 minutes later. She went back later and was told by another girl that she did not do that kind of manicure which is a basic procedure. The people at the spa were great. The massage was wonderful. That was the best part of our two days there. ”

  • My Visit

“Your valet personnel and door greeters were excellent. Always ready to hold the doors open and retrieve or watch my Lambo. Your very young female concierge was not very helpful and did not even aknowledge me. Other than that, I love your hotel and will come back when the weather is much nicer. Thanks for asking. Also, I wish the pool eating area was open, and the people in the cafe more available to take outdoor orders. Couldn't find one anywhere so decided to eat elsewhere.”

  • Over priced!

“I was shocked to find out we had to pay for internet usage! We paid a lot of money to stay at this resort and they charged $12.95 a day to use their internet! We could have gone to Starbucks and used it for free! Very disappointing. However, the staff was very friendly and we appreciated the free shuttle to the train station. Not sure if I'd ever stay there again though.”

  • Hotel Review

“The hotel was awesome! We loved it, from the minute we walked up to the front lobby! Absolutely beautiful! The perfect place for a romantic birthday getaway! We'll be back! ”

  • Awesome views

“This Hotel is top-notch! Gorgeous views, attentive staff, great bar, great food. Walking distance to downtown. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Santa Barbara. Very romantic and beautiful Hotel. Highly recommended!”

  • Overrated

“Was there last year. They had a guest BBQ that was cancelled 2 hours early but didn't tell anyone so we had to make alternate plans. Their "mountain view" room consisted of several giant palm trees in front of the balcony with the mountains somewhere behind them. I won't stay there again.”
