“THIS IS THE BEST HOTEL IN DETROIT THAT I HAVE STAYED IN. THE SERVICE WAS GREAT AND THE STAFFS WERE VERY FRIENDLY. THE ROOMS ARE NOT THAT BIG BUT THEY ARE CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. THEIR BATHROOM HAS LARGE TUB ASIDE FROM THE SHOWER. BEST OF ALL, THEY DON’T CHARGE YOU PARKING FEE.”

“Very nice hotel with many amenities. Nice size bathroom with separate shower and bathtub (I would recommend a side hand rail because the tub is so deep and is very easy to slip and fall when standing to exit the tub). I enjoyed my stay in room #1424; however, the shower would drain very slowly and would fill quickly not allowing one to finish taking a shower. In spite of the fact that I informed the front desk about this the following morning and was told the matter would be promptly addressed, it was not. Tried to take a shower that night and the shower still wouldn't drain. I spoke to a manager about it the very next morning, he offered his apologies and assured me that he would have the shower drain taken care of by an engineer and he gave me a $50.00 credit to be used for room service for the inconvenience. Later that night, tried to take another shower; the same problem. This matter was never resolved as I spoke to another manager the following morning and he assured me that an engineer had been to the room to take care of the problem and he offered his apologies also. I have no doubt that this is and has been an ongoing problem with this particular room and management is simply willing to give something to the occupants for not being able to use the shower. I did use the $50.00 credit to order breakfast. I ordered pancakes. I poured syrup on the pancakes, turned my head for a moment to place the syrup down, looked back and all the syrup I had poured had disappeared just that fast; absorbed into the pancakes. So, don't order the pancakes or ask them to bring EXTRA syrup with your breakfast. Overall, a very nice hotel and I would stay there again but not in room #1424.”

“I checked in a 3:45 pm and was told there were no clean rooms availble; so they checked my luggage in, took my phone number...told I wouldn't have to stand in line when I returned, and I would be called when my rooms ready. After walking around the casino, and blowing money trying to stay busy...continuously checking my cellphone for the time, I decided to just go see what was taking so long. By this time it was 9:30 p.m. I asked if my room was ready and she gave me the key to the room. I asked why I wasn't called and the answer was, "I dont know---maybe it was the wrong number". I asked for a manager, after 45 minutes I was approached by the manager asking if he could help me. I informed him of what had occurred, he replied, "They called some people and they hung up on them--he even tried himself". However, this didnt occur in my case because I was wishing for the call to come through for hours, until I was tired of waiting. This was my second visit to Motor City Hotel, and I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!! Needless to say I was given my key to room at 10:15 p.m., and I checked in at 3:48 p.m. ”

“Upon arriving at the front desk on January 22,2012, I was greeted by a hostess who made a pass at me and other sexual comments to me which should not have happened. I felt very uncomfortable and did not feel safe knowing he knew what room I stayed it. Even after I went to my room the atmosphere was nothing peaceful. It seemed as if there was a rodeo going on in the room next to me and after complaining security came to my door instead of the room I complained about. Even after they came to my room they then insulted my name saying it was that of a mans and continued to not take my complaints serious. I will never recommend anyone to this establishment especially after I had out of town guest here. It made the city of Detroit look very bad. I will be writing a letter.”

“We've stayed at the hotel before and the delux king rooms are beautiful. The staff has always been courteous. We went down early for a Red Wing game they valet the car, we checked in, our room wasn't ready so they checked our bags and we hopped in the shuttle to the game! What a great service! It was they same weekend as the Auto show and monster truck rally so parking and traffic was congested. Dropped off and pick up for the game was really convenient. The food at the different restaurants are good but a little pricy, but to not have to leave the hotel/casino to eat is nice. I would go again, especially for a Red Wing game... No more people mover for me :-}”

“Motor City Casino has the common sense to keep the atmosphere upbeat and clean. I have always met the most interesting people there while either playing the slots or at a table game. The machines are not as tight as the other casinos and the dealers at the tables treat everyone with dignity and respect. You can be a novice player at cards and the dealers will guide you through the steps of playing any table game. I do wish the new non-smoking slot area would also include an area for non-smoking table games. It would be courageous of Motor City Casino to be the first to ban smoking. In this day and age the quality of air we breath should be a major concern for management. Second-hand smoke has been proven to cause serious health damage to all who encounter it. Why not make an area/room that the minority smokers could partake in without imposing their habit upon all who enter the casino? I really believe more people would support this casino.”

“Excellent rooms. Original room we were put into had very strong smoke smell as soon as you opened the door but the front desk was very supportive in procuring another room for us and keeping us close to our children in the second room. The casino was much larger then I expected but I did find the lower level somewhat warm. Great array of options and games. Did not witness any high level dining and this could have been due to timing of the visit - did not get there until mid night.”

Irridesence resturant set us up with a great table and the service was prompt and courteous. The casino experience was much better than at some of the others locally. “The hotel is gorgeous....but we went there to relax. Unfortunately, since the hotel is a casino, there were drunk people screaming thru the hallways and slamming doors through out the entire night. I finally called security at 3am, and was told the next morning that the disruptive guests were asked to leave around 4am after numerous complaints from other guests. Its a fun place to party, but I wouldn't recommend it if your planning on trying to sleep.”

“I was in town for a conference and stayed at MC because I had heard such great review of the restaurant. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed Monday and Tuesday when I was there. My online registration was lost. Evening crowd in the casino is pretty rough. Nice rooms and expensive room service. Was exploring it as an event venue for my business butg will not use because of the things mentioned.”

“We booked 2 rooms at the Hotel in Feb. The occasion was for my sons engagement. We purchased spa treatments, had a fabulous dinner overlooking the Detroit River and the bridge. The problem we had was once we returned to our rooms for the evening, it was like being at a Motel 6. Not the room itself, it was nice. However we had constant interuptions in the halls all night long. People were running uo and down the halls, screaming and laughing. This went on for hours. Needless to say, we didnt get any rest and our complaints were completely ignored. We still frequent the other casinos and stay a few times a month. But will never stay here again. Our $2500.00 night was a nightmare. ”
