“It was right on the beach so we pretty much just spent our entire weekend being lazy and soaking up the sun.” – Leila Bromberg

“Was in town to attend a wedding inside the resort. The event was organized smoothly. Facilities worked well as a charming venue for my friend’s special day. Hope to be back again for my vacation.” – Irene Bacon

“I didn't really like this hotel because I expected more. The room was clean, but just average clean meaning that they didn't put a lot of effort in the cleaning process.” – Prince

“The Lani Kai is old and run down. The rooms are in ill repair. I only ate breakfast at the roof top restaurant. The omelet was overcooked and disgusting. The restaurant was not very clean. All of the employees on duty at 10AM on January 3 were very friendly and helpful. The worst thing is the extreme inconvenience of not having wifi in the rooms. In order to go on line you must sit in the lobby -- how inconvenient. What trumps all of this are the incredible balconies overlooking the gulf that all the rooms have. This makes it all worthwhile!”

“The building itself is older and has welcomed many travelers. Although worn, the room was clean and everything was in working order. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. The beach view a sunset was priceless.”

“When you drive up, you can tell it's an older hotel. But the staff was propmt and friendly. We walked into our room and all you can see is the gorgeous ocean and hear the live band down stairs. We had a great time!! Stayed in our room most of the vacation lol!”

“Perfect location on a beautiful beach. Room was large with a balcony and a kitchenette. Room was clean, hot water and AC worked. Good price for the location but the hotel itself is run down. ”

“we had a great time but too short of a stay. we stayed at sheppards in clearwater for two days and should have come directly to you for more time. The ceiling in our room 302 needs some work to get rid of prior water stains. the rooms need to be updated soon, maybe start at the top and work the way down or have some better rooms for people looking for a bit more than sprink break rooms. will be back asap. tx”

“We picked lani kai because it was about $100 per nite right on the beach.. the room air conditioning was not cooling first nite so we woke up sweating. The band played below our room til 3am and very loud people. (Would have been fine 10 yrs ago when we didn't have kids). The beds were not comfortable and nothing has been updated in this hotel since 1970. All in all we survived but should have spent a couple extra bucks and stayed elsewhere. A great place for spring breakers with a piercing parlor next to the tiki bar...”

“The view was awesome from the 3rd floor. Beach and entertaiment all the time was nice, hard to sleep sometimes with the music going on weekend till after 2. Rooms could use some serious rennovations, smelled musty, tiles in floor old and broken and tub had peeling paint. Staff was great...”

“We had a blast the week we stayed. Room was nice. View from 5th floor was AWESUM! Entertainment was great. Staff was all friendly and helpful. Visited all bars/lounges. Loved the drinks; Miami Vices was the best. Ate at both restaurants - food was great. Yes, we would recommend and stay there again on our trips back to Ft Myers Beach. ”

“Not what I expected at all. The view was the only good thing about it. Seriously in need of rennovations. You could have a good thing, why wouldn't anyone do something about it. SAD!!! ”

“Room was clean and the view was awesome. The day we left, though, my girlfriend found a cockroach”

“Lets see...we arrived 1am on a sat. There were all drunk people all around then we got to our room the music was so loud from the nightclud we could not fall asleep! Morning 2 we were woken up by someone hammering next door it only got worse from there they started drilling while I was in the shower! It felt like they wrre coming threw the wall! We were told they were ripping the floor up and nobody was suppose to be staying.on tje floor we were on!! And finally they shut the water off with no warning last day.”

“Arrived during love bug season which infested our suite on a daily basis. Not to mention the amount of times we had cockroaches crawling around. The rooms are run down and appear dirty all the time. It definitely wasn't worth the money to have a suite. The rooms need a facelift. The owner needs to get off the cash and start putting back into the hotel what he gets out of it. I won't stay there again.”

“When we first arrived, we were asigned to Room 210. There was a Screeching A/C unit that prevented any sleep. When we requested another room, we were made to feel like this was a bother. After a long back and forth discussion the clerk relucktantly found us a room on the 5th floor with 2 full beds. The room was dirty, we had to go back down stairs for towels and wash cloths. Maid service was less than satisfactory. The only thing that was a possitive was the beach.”

“The view of the beach was worth the cost of the room only. I understand it's Florida but I could have done without the ant infestation in our suite. The bathroom was very old-paint,tub peeling but it was the hair in the drain upon our arrival that turned my stomach.”

“Staff was helpful to retrieve brother's cell phone when he dropped off balcony to roof below. Pool is great. Rooms are nice. Great view of Ft. Myers Beach. Mean Rum Runners!”

“The stay was FABULOUS!”

“An old building, not even renovated. Beach-front music of the resort way too loud. Beach access, the only plus. Be prepared to inch your way to this place in your comfortable rental. Incoming traffic always congested.”

“It was a great location . But the rooms need to be renovated in a bad way . We had a great time anyway . ”
