“This was a nice hotel, with a friendly, professional, helpful staff and beautiful views of the ocean! It is a family resort. We heard that it was to be renovated, and it needs some upgrading. The furniture and carpet in the living area of the suite had stains. But the bedroom was nice, clean and comfortable. The breakfast food was fine. Restaurant and club/bar were nice too!”

“There was a sewage problem and the building corridor smelled like septic. I was surprised we were not moved to different rooms or offered a voucher at another hotel. Had it not been a long day I'd have found another place to stay, but the odor didn't seem to penetrate to the room itself in any appreicable way. When i complained I was givena credit for valet parking, which I felt was wholly inadequate. I asked that the manager call me when he was free, and while he apologized, I honestly felt some basic financial consideration or credit should have been offered. At this point I feel a credit to my credit card bill would appropriate.”

“The grandkids enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi and breakfast buffet. The grandparents enjoyed the evening cocktails! We have enjoyed staying at this resort for over 20 years. have never been disappointed.”

“The grounds are beautiful and rooms comfortable, but the rooms need updating. Wall paper was peeling, etc. However, everything else was fantastic. Staff was one of the best we've encountered in travels -- front desk and concierge were awesome in answering questions, helping with business needs, finding info about vacation day trip sites.”

“The staff is very helpful and the hotel is nicely appointed. I am not so sure that we got value for our money, however. We asked for a partial ocean view and we got that but we also got a view of the hotel's garbage dump on the way to our room. There must be a better place to put it. Also, whatever detergent they wash their sheets and towels in gave me an allergic reaction. It has taken five days for the rash to go away.”

“The hotel was very nice, but the room smelled like moldy walls (or carpet) my entire stay...very unhealthy and not attractive. Speaking to the hotel staff only had them acting "surprised" when I know they were aware of the rooms condition. The breakfast was very good, and the beach was easily accessible. And, the wedding, for which I went, was great.”

“Overall, my wife and I had a great experience at Embassy Suites Mandalay Beach. Great staff, wonderful breakfast. We have visited this property twice; the only concern is that the rooms where we stayed,though very clean,need to be upgraded, furniture and carpet a bit tattered, some rust and peeling paint in the patio area. That being said it is a great get away from the LA area where we live. We will be back.”
