“The remodeled Opryland hotel was beautiful ... but we found it fell well below our expectations with the Christmas Spectacular shows in service and logistics. For starters the traffic congestion was the horrible - Bangkok style parking on the streets; 45 minute bumper to bumper to get into the parking lots ... longer to hotel check-in; The Valets couldn't handle arrival check-ins - or car retrieval expediently averaged 45 - 60 minute waits in and out; We waited in Valet line for 40 minutes behind a poor fellow whos car had evidently been lost or stolen from the Valet Service. Room service and maid carts blocked the corridors in the early morning shift start time-frame near the Magnolia elevators corridor entrance; Couldn't get into restaurants or bars - no seats without reservations; Queues at everything! - Even See's candy - 1+ hours to buy 2 pounds of candy. We are used to crowds ... but this was over the top ... and in my opinion not worthy of a second try. The saving grace was that the shows - Grand ol Opry and Rockettes were fantastic and worth the trip ... wish we had stayed at a different hotel though.”

“This resort is truly a beautiful place, almost like paradise. There are streams, bridges, waterfalls, and 4 swimming pools in this sprawling resort. We stayed there for 4 days and 3 nights yet weren’t able to explore all the sights – that’s how big it really is. It is the kids’ first time in a hotel so we wanted them to have the best experience.”

“Clean, clean, clean! wonderful mardi-gras type environment under the dome. Food outstanding, from burgers on Delta Island to steak at Old Hickory. First time stop over visit will now be a destination.”

“This is a beautiful hotel/resort. I would definitely recommend a stay here. It's situated next to The Grand Ole Opry and Opry Mills Mall, so if you're a walker it's great. The staff was helpful as well, but check/in around 3PM took a long time. There are two downsides that are financial in nature. First, there is an $18 per/day per/room resort charge for things like bottled water in your room and shuttle service. Either of these you may not use. Secondly, waiting for and using valet parking can be ridiculously long. It was $26 per day for valet and $20 per day for self parking. If you don't mind these costly incidentals then try it. ”

“I was very excited to think that my daughter and I would have a room with a balcony and we would be able to sit on the balcony and people watch so I was rather disappointed when our balcony in the Delta section looked onto a building and we really couldn't see much of anything except the side of the building.”

“I loved the Hotel & restaurants. The rooms were outdated. No Frameless Showers, just the old tubs with shower curtains. The coffee maker and hair blow dryer were hidden away. But the Hotel itself is crazy beautiful. You feel like you are in the wilderness but it is air controlled. I will definately go back.”

“Such a beautiful place. Out of a picture book. I was with my 16 yr old twins for spring break. The plan was to stay all week but you all could not accommodate because of a conference going on. The only thing I did not like about the room was the fact there was not a microwave. I love eating popcorn as my nightly snack and I NEVER stay in a hotel without a microwave. I took it for granted. That's why I gave the 4star. I will stay there again, next year-just me and the hubby because I want him to experience this place. It has a romantic feel to it. But I'll be sure to make sure we have a room with a microwave. Lol”

“The Resort is beautiful but trying to check in leaves a lot to be desired. Paying extra for parking is no fun. We self parked but were charged for valet parking. Also the $18.00 charge for the amenities we did not use except for the 2 bottles of water was a waste of our money. We will never stay at the Opryland Resort again even though we consider it to be a very beautiful place to visit. It was also very clean.”

“Our check-in was delayed. We needed to talk to three reservationists before we finally obtained our room. Our lunch was mediocre (a mushy meatloaf sandwich)and overpriced. We did not stay the second night, even though we had paid $350 for it.”

“We had a wonderful time during our stay at the hotel. All five of us enjoyed the indoor pool and the hot tub. The staff was very helpful and of course the hotel is beautiful and clean. My husband and I had three grandchildren with us for an over night stay during their Sping Break. It was a special treat for everyone. We would definitely recommend it to others. ”

“I stayed at The Inn at Opryland for a conference. My wife and I had never been to Nashville before so we extended our stay to 10 days. I had read some negative reviews and was apprehensive because of the reports of dirty rooms (I am a stickler about germs and cleanliness). I was very happy with the cleanliness of my room and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. If I had any concern it was because of the noise from the pool and the breakfast area. I asked the staff and was told they were working on fixing the noise issue. ”

“My husband and I booked a room here for Valentine's weekend. I made the reservation, over a month in advance, for a traditional king room. Upon check in, they tried to get me to take a $100 hotel credit to use in the hotel and take a room with a PULL OUT SOFA BED for me and my husband! Told them that I wanted to keep my king bed. They gave us the room key card. Upon entry into our room, we find that it is NOT A KING, but a double queen. I called the desk to ask about the room. I was told that there were not any available king rooms for the night.I asked if I would be given a discount for the room difference,at which point I was told that there wasn't a price difference. The room was crowded and there was lots of noise in the hallway all night. I probably would not have had as much a problem with this had I been told about it at check in, rather than finding out when I got to my room. Very inconsiderate!!!!”

“Enjoyed our stay very much, room was very nice and the staff was very helpful. The only drawback was that after a day of travel and looking for a quick meal. Many of the food facilities were closed, nowhere was it listed which were closed and which were open. This was also the case on Fri.”

“Was there in November for a conference. Come time to get car from valet, it took an hour. They claimed they could not find my keys. Had they looked in front of them they would have them. They had been there all along. They pretended to be looking, all the while delivering other guests cars. Livid because my time is as valuable as the next. Put travel time behind. Had to work next day. So thumbs down to valet and management. Oh btw, hotel is beautiful, just don't be in a hurry to leave.”

“This retired homebody was forced by wife to go with our 3 year old. I have been around the world and I loved this hotel! We got the atrium balcony and paid for some holiday season package for our son to see Shrek and all those characters. Our son was treated like royalty! I don't think I have ever NOT had a single complain about an entire staff: but I don't. Sometimes everything just goes perfect and our visit was perfect! We even got the best parking spot in the lot.... repeatedly. lol ”

“I requested and upgrade at check-in and one was found. I was told it was on the fourth floor overlooking the Atrium but was not ready. After more than an hour I checked with the front desk and was told it was ready. When we got to the room it overlooked the parking lot and was on the second floor. I went back and was then given a room on the second floor facing the Atriun. The walkway was right outside our balcony and there was very little privacy. We decided we would keep the room although it was not what we had requested. Poor communication at the hotel seemed to be the problem. We ordered a hamburger at one of the quick service restaurants and it was served on a VERY cold bun. They were nice enough to refund our purchase price.”

“Just spent 4 days at the Gaylord..... Rooms were decent, though overpriced. The bellman was very nice and friendly. Check in was lengthy.... We were suppose to have connecting rooms in the cascade atrium, upper floor.... Ended up with Delta atrium 2nd floor. Rooms had average furnishings and a bit small. The parking is a nightmare..... 5 lanes for check in/ check out and vallet parking. 2 lanes were always closed and waiting for the car to be brought around took upwards of 30 minutes. The vallet parking should be done at another entrance... Very congested and people were very unhappy. I stayed at the Gaylord Texan nd loved it... I'll take a pass on the Gaylord Opryland next time in Nashville.”

“At first, my husband and I were concerned about the number of people checking into the hotel at the same time we were. But surprisingly, because of the hotel's tremendous size and the way it's structured, people seemed to get disbursed evenly throughout, so we never felt crowded. And because my husband and I are seasoned travelers, we knew to call ahead when we wanted our car from valet, so we never had to wait. We found the hotel very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. It really is a beautiful place. One evening, my brother-in-law lost his wallet, so he went back down to the Falls where we had just sat and had some cocktails to see if he happened to leave it there. When he got there, the waitress was waiting for him with a big smile and told him she found it in his chair and knew he'd come back to get it. He offered her a reward and she so graciously said it wasn't necessary and that she was just so happy she found it and was able to see that he got it back. Now that's a shining example of a great hotel. We happen to be there for Christmas Day and we were very impressed with all the beautiful decorations and seasonal foliage that the hotel had for the holiday. We found the food to be excellent in the restaurants, but just okay for the two catered events we went to, lunch on the General Jackson and Christmas dinner in the Tennessee Ballroom. I will say though that the waiters and waitresses at those two events were terrific. Even the buses that took us to and from the shows were big and comfy and clean. We had a standard double queen room which was clean and comfortable and we were quite impressed with how quickly the room was cleaned each day. However, I would have liked it more if they gave you somewhere to sit other than the one desk chair in the room. They had an extensive room service menu, but no place to sit and eat if you ordered in. But overall, we had such a fun stay and would recommend it especially for the holidays. One last thing, bring good sneakers because there's lots of walking. ”

“Theme Park with hotel accommodations. Ideal for familes with children. Anything but restful. Restaurant facilities under provided and food quality questionable, even at their upper end restaurants.Wait for Breakfast 1.5 hours is ridiculous. Overall quality of service was very disappointing.”

“We made reservation in September for a December visit. Upon check in we were told they had overbooked and the room we expected was not available. So instead of a room with 2 beds we were given a room with one portable queen bed placed against a door for adjoining room and a sofa bed. Not pleased at all! Also, there is poor information and signage to help navigate the various Gaylord attractions and mall from the hotel. More information about the available shuttle service and where pickups are located is needed.”

“Very enjoyable stay with all the decorations and viariety of restaurants. Staff were very friendly and helpful.Only issues were a damp spot on the carpet between the front entrance and the bathroom; shower head needed cleaning/replacing as it sprayed water in all directions. When we mentioned these to the maintenance staff as we were leaving the room they responded immediately. Can't wait to make a return visit. ”

“When I made the reservations, over a month ago, I requested two queen beds. When I checked in I was told I had been given a queen bed and a sofa that made into a bed. No matter how you look at it, that's not two queen beds. The man, behind the counter, was rude and unhelpful. However, after much agony and discussion with a manager we got the two queen beds. This set a bad tone for the rest of the trip. When we got to the room, the to toilet was soiled all over. Obviously it had not been cleaned. There was also hair all over the floor. Again, more bad taste in our mouth. For the price we pay, it shouldn't be that hard to get the type of room we asked for and for it to be clean. Along with many other guest, finding the rooms even with the "map" is very difficult. The hotel is beautiful but that beauty is hidden by the difficulty in finding our way around. I had previously read reviews but felt it couldn't be as bad as people were saying. I should have listened. I would not stay there again and will ensure anyone I run into knows the problems there. There was one bright spot, one employee did everything she could to help us and was very nice. Unfortunately, even she wasn't able to overcome the experience we had. ”

“Beautiful hotel and the concierge was helpful. However, since we didn't use valet service, we had to park quite a distance without being able to drop off luggage/people at the door and was charged $20/vehicle to self-park. Upon check-in, we had reserved a room with 2 queen beds, but was given a room with 1 queen bed and 1 sleeper sofa. Had to go to concierge to get help. She gave us another room, which we couldn't find, got called back to concierge because we had been given wrong room again. She made correction. Had trouble finding this room as well because layout of hotel and maps are unclear and walkways are narrow and hard to pass. Once we found the room, discovered bathroom hadn't been cleaned. Urine stains on seat and toilet bowl. Trash on floor. We then went to dinner across the street. Upon return, we needed to go to our car at the first crosswalk but was told by security we couldn't and had to go to the end crosswalk and backtrack. Was told hotel had shuttle service to Grand Ole Opry/Ryman, but wasn't told there was a fee of $20/person going/coming. Check-out morning was billed an unexpected addl $18 resort fee/misc. Would not recommend hotel.”

“The hotel was unbelievable with the multiple sections. I was able to walk through all areas but felt lost on many occasions. The only negative feedback was when I arrived. A staff member approach the car and welcomed us to the hotel but once I informed that I would be self parking, the staff member loss interest and informed me to park by the wall to register. ”

“We arrived early and waited for our room to be ready. Housekeeping called saying it was and we found that the room definitely was Not. Retuned to front desk, the lady proceeded to up grade up to the Cascade, which was fantastic. We were very satisfied with everything, including the fact that you have directional maps all over the place. Our only disappointment is that you charge your room guests for parking. Not cool.”

“The hotel in and of its self is amazing. Thats being said, our room for 200.00 plus tax was sub par in qualiity. Nothing spactacular. I have stayed in hotels that were cheaper that were nicer in the rooms. The pillow shams on our bed had several stains. The heat was governed allowing only a dial to turn a blower fan up at different levels. The first setting roasted you out of thr room and turning thr fan off rendered the room too cold. They only supplied a very thin blanket and two sheets as coverlets and a thick foot blanket which was only wide enough to cover your feet. Most hotels stock extra pillowsxand blanket in the closet but not this one. The manager only offered a 50.00 credit after a very uncomfortsble evening in the room. Not impressed. I would gladly visit the hotel but not stay with out a proper discount. ”

Called Front Desk-after still not convincing Hotel Rep. that the room had not been cleaned - Housekeeping was sent to room to clean the bathroom and at our request changed the sheets on the beds. Housekeeping was very gracious. Also, finding that the trash can had not been emptied, proved that the room was made up, and not cleaned before our arrival. “The room and facilities were as expected. We went to celebrate my wife's birthday. On Sunday morning we went to the restaurant in the Delta area to enjoy breakfast, but were told this restaurant had been reserved for a group. We had to walk to the Cascades area for our meal. The line at the Cascades restaurant was such that we were told our wait would be 30-45 minutes. The only option given was a light meal at the coffee shop. We walked all the way back to our room in the Magnolia section (by now frustrated, very hungery, and 45 minutes away from check-out time) and called guest services to inquire as to other options. The only option given was an extention of our check-out time, which did not fit our schedule for the remainder of the day. We had to find breakfast off-site. The hotel and facilities were wonderful, as expected. However, at the price we paid, if guests cannot be properly served a notice prior to check-in, or other considerations would have been appreciated. We will find another place to celebrate next time.”

“Our first stay at the Nashville Gaylord Resort was enjoyable. ALL of the staff were extremely pleasant. The rooms and all other sites are clean. The rooms are extremely quiet for such a large facility. I never heard my neighbors visiting, slamming their door or flushing. However, map reading is a recommended skill-set. Listen carefully to the staff's recommended path to/from parking and/or your room. Notice the carpet design leading to your room. Remember left or right out of the elevator and the elevator number you should use. Once you spread your bread crumbs, getting around the site won't be a problem. I would strongly recommend the Gaylord to anyone wanting to be in Nashville for more than one night. ”

“The atmosphere is wonderful and part of the overall experience. However, the room was dissappointing given the reputation of the property. It wasn't much better than a new Holiday Inn Express. We recently stayed at The Peabody hotel and found their rooms better appointed and larger. The biggest dissapointment and why I ranked the stay at 2 was the staff. Most hotels of this caliber and reputation have ample staff and are trained to recognize the guest. I never had one staff member acknowledge me when passing in the hallway or public areas. They didn't smile or even look up and one was actually texting on their phone. There are so many entrances and no doorman. Maby Marriott will either hire doorman or install electric doors. I would also say that the staff that organizes the transportation needs some customer service training. She was more "drill sargent" than customer service driven. I recently stayed at one of your previously owned properties "The Broadmoor" in Colorado Springs. Every associate and many were foreign, acknowledge me and yours staff should take notice and do the same. Given the room rate and all the "extra charges" I expected more from your property. Hopefully Marriott will do a better job with taking care of the guest.”

“The Hotel is awesome except that we found the food quite expensive. If our entire family had stayed there we would have had to go outside of the hotel to eat. Other than that, awesome experience. We would definately stay there again.”

“The room was clean, small, and overpriced. We were so far from everything and had to walk too much. We should have asked for a room for handicapped, if the hotel has that sort of room. I don't think I would stay there again. The $38 for parking and "resort" fee on top of the $200 + for the room was just TOO MUCH.”

“WOW! What a beautiful facility! We were upgraded to a suite - I think they had run out of regular rooms, due to a conference. The suite was beautiful-exceptionally clean, comfortable furniture, etc. The bed was so comfortable we had trouble getting up in the morning! The hotel staff was extremely helpful and accomodating. We had delicious meals in the restaurants we ate in.The fitness center was state of the art and very clean. The shuttle buses were, for the most part, on time. The drivers were very friendly and gave us a tour as we drove to our destination. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends!”

“Not worth the price. Daily parking fees are high. Food was mediocre, location not convienent to downtown. Total was $600 for 2 nights. Hotel environment was nice, good surroundings, clean, pleasant staff. I will not stay at the hotel again.”

“While this was a beautiful property, it was not our style. Sort of a Disneyland/cruise ship/Las Vegas feel. For all its amenities, there was surprisingly very little nightlife. We would have rather stayed downtown where the action was and visited the gardens, which were nice.”

We enjoyed our meals at the American Cafe and the staff was excellent and very pleasant. Because I am not as mobile as I'd like to be, there was too much walking to enjoy the entire Resort. We enjoyed going to the Grand Ole Opry. Thanks for asking!”

“The room awaiting our arrival was on floor "0" which we would call the basement, The view was terrible. This was our atrium $300. per night view. However after spending the first night in this room, we complained to the hotel and they gave us a different room on the fifth floor with a garden view. Everything ended up turning out just fine. ”

Bus provided nice, shouldn't charge for trip to downtown..at least not $20.00 per person. Hotel very pretty and flowers in full bloom. Music with water awesome. ”

“i recently fulfilled a dream (turned nightmare) by staying at the opryland nashville. i purchased 6 nights(2 rooms)at a cost over $3000.00. after 2 sleepless nights due to rowdy teens with no adult supervision i had no choice but to leave. the staff were the rudest i have ever encountered. the guesthouse inn and suites gave us 5star treatment as soon as we entered the lobby. i actually feel for the good employees of opryland hotel . i will never with any integrity recommend this hotel to anyone, ever. i still haave not even been offered the return of 1 night . avoid this tourist trap at all cost.”

“Very pretty. Too big. Staff saw us using our maps and helped us find our room. The concierge staff were the most pleasant and helpful. For us there was too much noise from adjoining rooms that brought children. In a room like ours there were families with children. It took an hour for our car to be brought out of valet parking. I would come to look at the facility but would stay downtown.”

“This was our best vacation ever, in large part due to the beautiful surroundings within the hotel. It was so enjoyable that we even chose to stay in one day, spending the day at the spa, the pool, the restaurants, walking among the fantastic plants, taking the boat ride and just enjoying the moments. The accommodations are first rate and the customer service is outstanding.”

“Staff very helpful Room was clean but not up to my expectations for the amount I paid. Room was very small. No comforter, flat pillows. The carafe for the coffee pot was missing. Ate dinner at the Jack Daniels Steak house. Food was very good, but the service was fair. I had to actually flag down my server for attention. Beautiful atrium. I guess I should have just visited the hotel and stayed somewhere else. I would not recommend staying at this hotel. ”

“Honestly, i was disappointed in our stay in Gaylord. The room we had has a fan that is very noisy, there is even no extra blanket that we could use too. The linen or the bed sheets is not comfortable to use and the toilet tissue seems to be a cheap value. Then, we noticed a part of the ceiling (soiled) placed near the restroom door needs to be changed. Its not worth what we had paid for. I even told my boyfriend which he agreed, our stay at the christmas place is much better.”

“UNFORTUNATELY WE ONLY HAD ONE NICE DAY WHILE WE WERE THERE SO SPENT A LOT OF TIME IN THE HOTEL ITSELF WHICH IS AN EXPERIENCE UNTO ITSELF. WE HAVE BEEN THERE SERVERAL TIMES AND LOVE IT MORE EACH TIME. THE ONLY COMMENTS WE WOULD MAKE ARE THAT IN PREVIOUS VISITS THERE WERE WANDERING SINGER AND GUTARISTS ALL OVER THE PLACE - WE LOVED THAT. ALSO WHEN WE WERE THERE BEFORE THERE WAS CHRISTMAS MUSIC PLAYING ALL OVER THE HOTEL AND SOMEONE PLAYING A BIG GRAND PIANO IN THE MAGNOLIA LOBBY - WE WERE SO LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT AGAIN THIS YEAR. THE ONLY PLACE WE HEARD A LITTLE BIT OF CHRISTMAS MUSIC WAS IN THE CASCADES LOBBY. EVERYONE WE SPOKE WITH ON YOUR STAFF COULD NOT DO ENOUGH FOR US. ”

“My girlfriend and I took her three girls up to Gaylord Opryland for a 4 night, 5 day stay during Christmas. It was bowl season and holiday season, but most everything went better than we could have hoped for. We ended up staying most of the day of Christmas in the room. When housekeeping came around, they asked if they could clean the room. With all of the girls' gifts laying on the beds and floor, I asked the housekeeper to not worry about it that day. Seeming very concerned, she ask if I was sure and that she would not be long. I respectfully declined again, and she said well let me give you some water (bottled and free), coffee, and toiletries. I gladly accepted them and thanked her again. On the final night before our departure, my girlfriend's youngest girl vomitted in the bed. We had to call for extra bed clothes. Within 15 minutes, 3 housekeepers came up to remove and replace the sheets and blanket with only care and concern for the little one. They all acted so nicely and caringly and wrapped her up in the sheets and blanket and surrounded her with her stuffed animal. I was very impressed as was my girlfriend. The only con I have was the valet line taking longer than expected a couple of times. Regardless, the employees and atmosphere made our holiday one to remember for the rest of our lives. Thank you Opryland Hotel.”

“I think your hotel looks lovely but I think everything about the experience is painful. Waiting to valet your car in a line that is crazy long...every time, an hour wait for restaurants that have more empty tables than full, waiting in line to get a cup of coffee that is mediocre...waiting, waiting, waiting. Ugh! We will not be returning. I know that for certain.”

“This is a hotel & convention center in one. I found it difficult to navigate in general and especially when my knee acted up and I couldn't easliy find handicap accesses. The sign at the shuttle location clearly states that you get admission to Country Hall of Fame included, but when we got there we had to pay. It is advertised for all sorts of Christmas activities; but you couldn't get a Christmas dinner anywhere despite what we were told ahead of time. couldn't get a reservation at any restaruant until 8 p.m. ”

“We did enjoy the atmosphere at the hotel. The decorations and grounds are beautiful. We were delighted that a shuttle was provided to transport us to the Rocketts show. What disappointed us was the parking fee of $18 per day, the added resort fee (as we never use extra facilities), and the quality of food at the restaurants (substandard for the price). Our room was nice but it took a long time to get hot water. It is doubtful that we will go back. We will recommend with reservations.”

“We came to the Opryland Hotel to see the Rocketts. We booked on line. At check in we were told that we were being charges a $15.00 "Resort Use" fee. Plus an $18.00 parking fee. We booked a room in because we would be late getting out of the show and did not want to have to fool with traffic in getting back to another hotel. We did not use the "resort" facilities in any manner that we could not have gotten in any other hotel or motel in Nashville. I do understand parking fees. However, it would appear that an overnight guest should have some priority parking closer that the 1/4 to 1/2 mile we had to park from the hotel and/or a at least discount from public parking rates. When we checked in we asked about how to get to the Rocketts Show that evening. We were told to that we could catch the shuttle at 7:00 PM for the 8:00 show at a designated port. We were there before 7:00 and there were people everywhere. This was a crowd and it was not organized in any manner, There were no lines for boarding. People were jambed in the halls with several pushing for a position. There was no shuttle there to board from 7:00 until 7:20 when we finally left and asked someone if we could drive or walk to the show. The direction she gave us were great. We walked which was fine, however should it have been bad weather this would have not been acceptable. My wife and I are seniors and had we been like many other seniors we might not have had the option to walk. We would have been "crushed in the crowd" as some were. ... Finally, Sunday morning as we were preparing to leave there was a fair amount of people in line at one of your cafes'. After waiting 15 to 20 minutes in line we were told that they were out of coffee and out of pasties and that we should go to another cafe across the way for service. She told us that they would bring the coffee from that cafe to the one we were waiting in 15 minutes if we wanted to wait. There was only one person wait on people at this cafe. We deceided that we would eat breakfast on the road and left without having anything. So, to answer your question about our stay at Opryland Resort...it was much less than we expected and less than it should have been. The staff was friendly however, the organization and planning overall was POOR. The hotel and grounds are beautiful what a shame we can not in good conscience recommend staying there. We can and do recommend the Rocketts Show to everyone but advise them to stay in another hotel. No, I am sorry to say we were not pleased. ”

“Other than the fact that the front desk tried to not give me the room I paid for, it was a great experience. I had confirmation on a King Traditional and they out us in a Queen room. It took about an hour to correct the problem when they saw I was not going to be happy any other way.”

“A little too pricey for me. What with a $15/day resort fee (what's that about) and $18/night parking in a facility far from the crowded downtown parking. Good food is very pricey (2 eggs, 4 strips of bacon, large spoon full of potatoes and a bisquet %15) and cheaper food facilities (slice of pizza $4) will sustain you. Nice to see once. My recommendation is to book 1 night here for the experience and move on.”

“The experience at Gaylord was more than I expected. It was a feeling you might get at Disney land. The resort was very clean. It was very impressive. “My brother-in-law booked and paid for a large number of rooms for the week end of his wedding 11/26/11. My husband has a disability and the hotel was asked to give us two connecting rooms with balconies. Since the hotel offered help/services for guest with disabilities, it was requested for us to have early check-in. When we got there we were told our rooms were across the hall from each other. Then they said only one room was ready for check-in. It took 45 minutes and a manager to get the rooms promised. The check-in person added valet parking charges to my credit card and also to my daughter's card but we came in only one car. (They later took that off at check-out when I noticed the charge.) I called ahead for valet parking retrieval and was told it was unavailabe at the present time so I had to send my daughter down to the lobby to request my car. I tried to get into the comments sections on the TV check-out channel to state my problems, but it said that was unavaliable at the time. The bellman came within a decent time but took a personal call on his cell phone as we went down the elevator. Other members of our family also had problems at check-in. Sorry, Opryland Hotel, you made what should have been a happy, joyous celebration into a stressful time for several members of our family. My brother-in-law paid handsomely for all those rooms and I hope he never finds out so many of us had so many problems.”

“The Good: A) Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous facitlity B) Friendly staff The Bad A) The staff is not educated in hotel procedure. B) We had a discrepancy using a wheel chair for my mother. C) My husband could not get out of the self- parking lot which, according the line next to him, he was not the only one having an issue. For the price, I would think that the staff would be better trained. ”

“Very nice hotel, but very pricey for a room that overlooked the area where delivery trucks load and unload. It was over $500.00 for two nights and the view was horriable. The food at the restrants were way over priced. I will never stay there again. VERY OVER PRICED. ”

“This is an amazing property. Very difficult to navigate. Everywhere I went there were groups standing around with maps trying to find something. My only complaint is that I feel everything in this resort is about 30% overpriced. However, there were lots of people there, so I don't look for any discounts in the near future.”

“The hotel was very unusual and very large. Getting around such a large property is a hassle sometimes. But the public areas are amazing. Greenery, a river, numerous restaurants, etc--all make for a real experience.”

“My family and I were VERY diappointed in our stay. We were in a portion of the hotel still under renovation from the flood. The floor of our hall was concrete with electrical work lights on the wall. Although the atrium area of the hotel is beautiful and the restaurants nice, the room was not special. There were no extra amenities above those available in a non-resort hotel. The pillows were flat and uncomfortable. I have had much better hotel rooms in the Nashville area and will probably not return to the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. Guests should be made aware that the hotel is still under construction. I would never knowingly pay this amount if I was aware of the potential of being located in an "under-construction" area.”

“I had a confirmed reserv for a king and reception tried to stick us in two queens. They found us a king but our first room was "used" and we had to be moved which took an extra 45 minutes at midnight. We would opt for a downtown hotel on next stay in Nashville. Huge property with nice amenities; great rebuild from the 2010 flood. Large sections of "public areas" were reserved for the use of a private corporation for at least one of the full evenings we were there. Overall average value at best.”

“Staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall the experience was enjoyable and the resort is quite beautiful. The major criticism is that I was not told in advance that during that two major companies had the steakhouse, jazz bar and island shops closed off at night for their own enjoyment. It was the two weekend nights I was there. The Steak house and jazz club were ones I wanted to enjoy. I would have switched the dates had I been properly informed in advance. ”

“We were shocked at the mess in the hallway on arrival. Rolls of carpet, scraps and workmen crowding the hall. We were not able to roll the luggage through the clutter. “We have always enjoyed our stay at the Gaylord but the experience was different this time. The ceiling in the bathroom had significant water damage, the carpet needed to be vacuumed and the chairs and table on the balcony were dirty. At ck out we had a $15/day charge extra--was told it was for the fitness room, bottled water in your room and shuttle to certain destinations that are owned by the hotel. “The long line of valet parking vehicles slowed down guests wanting to self park. We spent 15 minutes in a line of cars before the attendant directed us to the interim parking area to go into the hotel to check in. Very disorganized. Once checked into our room the hotel staff was pleasant and very helpful. The room was clean and well decorated. The courtyards were beautiful and well maintained. The junk fees for parking ($18) and the resort fee ($15) are a little much.”

“Gaylord is absolutely gorgeous. I am an avid gardener so especially like to visit! Would love to see plants labeled as is done at botanical gardens. Room was fine, although nothing different than a $100 room we often stay at when traveling. Your draw is the conservatory. The pool with games & music was a blast; a lifesafer for grandkids and adults alike in the 95+ temperatures. We were there for hours and didn't get bored. Congratulations to that very friendly staff!”

“We have stayed in high end hotels all over the world. This one is truly spectacular. Our room was excellent with beautiful balcony view of atrium. Very good to have refrig, safe, and Wi-Fi included for $15 per day. Hotel transportation on their bus is too expensive at one-way fares of $20 downtown and $30 airport. I rented a car in hotel at HLE for 24hr and had its use, airport dropoff, and free parking in the HLE lot virtually at front entrance for less than the $60 we would have paid to ride their bus to the airport. It is extremely difficult to find your way around this huge complex especially because you have to change between the first and second levels to get from one place to another. They should color code the maps so you know which level you need to be walking on and when and where you need to change levels to get from place to place especially from your room to the bus stops. Cleaning staff was too noisy in halls.”

“The hotel was very beautiful. We enjoyed our stay very much. I only have two comments, one is that the person that checked us in was very nice, but inexperienced, which i have no problem with. the problem i have is the manager he asked to assist him took an extremely long time to come to his aid, and in the end, he had to go find another person to help him. He was very apologetic, and actually gave us free parking for our delay. Again, i had no problem with the original person, but your management should be more responsive to the newer reservationists. My second issue, i upgraded to a "garden view" room, which cost me $65.oo extra dollars, and though it was lovely, i do not feel it was worth the extra $65.00, as the trees were overgrown, and our "view" was quite obstructed. I love the Gaylord Opryland Hotel, and would definitely stay again, but I was only there for one night, and these two issues really stood out for me. I will refer others, definitely. ”

“I booked a courtyard King upgraded room, having been to this hotel before, I knew they had nice little balconies and a nice view in the courtyard area. Think mine was Magnolia. I had to crane around a corner to glimpse the courtyard. NOT worth the upgrade price. Also, the maids were very noisy in the hall in the early am. I travel ALL the time. Not impressed.”

“The staff, grounds, and common areas were excellent. My room on the other hand was disappointing. Other than the flat screen TV my room seemed old and dull. It felt like a Holiday Inn back when I was a kid and we were on summer vacation. I wouldn't recommended staying here. Next time I'll go for a cheaper Hotel with nicer rooms, free parking and no daily resort fee. ”

“The resort is certainly a destination in itself! Having been prior to the horrible flood last year, it is wonderful to see it back to a grand landmark for so many who LOVE the Opry connection. The resturants and shops so enjoyed and look forward to the reopen of the Opry Mills in 2012!!!”

“MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS WHEN WE WENT TO THE SHUTTLE BUS THEY WERE SMOKING AS SOON AS YOU OPEN THE DOOR AND WALKED UNDER THE AWING SHOULD HAVE THEM GO OVER IN THE PARKING AREA”
Posted by MARVIN GLADFELTER

“The resort and surroundings are beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food is vastly overpriced for the quality (within the resort's restaurants as well as roomservice). There was constant issues with the tv in the room working properly. Also, the pricing should be more clear because I did not like being charged a substantial resort fee and tax for everyday we stayed. 18 bucks pr day parking is ridiculous. Overall it was a good experience but I will stay at a cheaper hotel with better accommodations next time in Nashville. ”

“I loved all the aspects of the Gaylord..except for the check-in experience. They tried to give us a room with a pull out sofa bed! They were "very booked" ...quote from check in personel...and tried to put us in accomodations unacceptable. We told them that we booked 2 double beds and did get that in the end. The room was not cleaned until very late in the day...and we had to get towels from the cart in the hall. The surrounding are beautiful..and the resturants are great. Save money on their transportation. It only costs 25 dollars to town and airport for a cab. We paid 40 dollars each for their bus..rip off!”

“We had booked 2 rooms. They tried to give us both rooms with no bed and only a pull out couch with a 2 inch mattress. When we complained they did change us without a problem. Room service never cleaned our room until 5:00 by that time of the day who needs it!! We did need towels. 5 of us took the recommended shuttle from the airport which cost us $200 roundtrip. Found out later a cab ride for 5 was $25 one way. The hotel was beautiful but we felt like we were paying for the recent flood damage. Now that we are a little wiser, we would definately go back again.”

“The experience was undescrible, the only thing was that I forgot to tell the desk in room 5036 in the garden center the refrigerator was out cold but I was so in awe I could not even remember to tell anyone. We enjoyed our stay better than sny place I hsve ever stayed and I am 68 years old. I will tell everyone to go to the Gaylord! Perfectation!”

“Great experience”

“4 star rating but for the money, I rate a 3. Great facilities and many different things to do on site. Just a little too pricey for a family to afford; food is expensive and $18 a day for parking plus the resort tax really add up. The staff was very friendly and helpful. ”

“We spent Christmas Eve at the Resort and it was amazing. The decorations, the entertainment, the food, the room -- it was truly a great evening. The best ending -- snow!! What a Christmas.”

“I booked our stay at opryland hotel for my wife's birthday. Our stay got off to a very bad start. It was raining hard when I arrived to check-in and I pulled up under the cover at the registration desk in order to check in. A parking attendant approached me as I was gettin out of my vehicle and asked if I was going to use valet parking. I told him that I was not but that I needed to check in. He told me that I had to move my vehicle out from under the cover and park in some uncovered spaces. Two other parking attendants came over and they would not let me check in until I moved out into the rain. After I checked in they would not allow me to unload my luggage under the cover so I had to unload in the rain. I was so wet that I had to change my clothes when I finally got to the room. At check-in I found out that two additional fees were added to my bill. There was a parking fee and a resort fee. This made my bill more than I had anticipated. It would be better to add this fee to the room charge so that there are no suprizes. We moved to another hotel in Franklin for the next two nights and we were well treated. The difference in attitude was amaZing. We will not come back to Opryland Hotel again. In the past few years I have brought 3 groups to stay at the Opryland Hotel. If I bring a group back to Nashville I will not consider the Opryland. I would not want my group to be treated like I was. It really did take away from our anticipated birthday celebration. ”

“A little expensive and the additional resort tax we were charged per day was a shock, as well as the high cost of parking a vehicle at the vehicle - $18/day. On our limited budget, we will NOT be staying at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Spa again. Rooms were just average. Nice interior though of the hotel.”

“Clean, comfortable room. Our room was missing a frig. Garden view is very nice, but I am not sure it is worth the upgrade. Be ready to spend at least $50 for a simple meal for a family of 4. Also there are an additional $40-50 total for resort and parking fees.”

“charged for parking and water and pool. food was over priced and not good. cleaning staff was extremley loud across the hall first thing in the morning. didnt get the room i booked and was facing a wall while all others could see the gardens. took shuttle to grand ole opry and was dumped off far from the door and had to walk in rain and cold.”

“It has been a few years since my wife and i had visited your resort, Callway gardens has caught our fancy for the last few years, but of course this hotel is as beautiful as we remembered, the room was very clean when we arrived, but was not cleaned the following day ? most all the food was great, (italian)? my wife of 41 years had a great time, so of course i did to. Thanks”

“I totally enjoyed the your resort. room very clean, staff very friendly, and would recommend to others only problem I had was I don't believe you should charge for parking if you are staying at the hotel. Thank You Rob”

“Concierge made our stay awesome. Thanks to her, our room was in a lovely location to celebrate my birthday. I do think the room, and especially the restaurants, were overpriced. It was also irritating how the resort wanted to charge us again at checkout for 'resort fees' even though we had paid for everything at the time of our reservation. ”

“It was Christmas eve and the hotel was gorgeous all decked out in its Christmas decorations. The Rockettes show was also great. Even with the snow, the hotel was well prepared.”

“i went there for my beta convention and it was the best hotel ever but expensive but its worth it”
Posted by guadalupe

“i was greatly disappointed with my stay at Nwtf convention this year. My suite had to be recleaned-band aid, drywall dust, drywall chips. You took out a high priced but outstanding buffet and replaced with a high priced buffet with little choices. People who stay at your place pay a lot. More than the other good places, I expect more. We used to look forward to the great breakfast. Your help at the hickory rest breakfast buffet were horrible at best. Busy jaw jacking, standing around and in the way, slow service.”
