“Hotel was clean, staff police and helpful. Breakfast was great but the so called restaurant--really wasn't much. Very limited menu (about 10 items). No complete dinners and what we had was awful. Other than that, we will go there again.”

“Had a lovely room with fridge, microwave; bed was comfortable and linens/towels were clean. Room was very clean. Only downside: Amtrak train comes through about 5/5:30 am and blows whistle at station (just next street down the hill). Accessibility to streetcar/light rail made this an affordable stay for convention center...less than 10 minute ride. Parking was free at hotel, as was wifi. Made much more economic sense that staying in the "downtown" and having to pay for both parking and wifi. Would stay again if in the Tacoma area. ”

“Price was good for long weekend stay. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Room was comfortable and clean. Easy access from I-5. Convenient parking - even with an event at the Dome we were on the first parking level each evening. Breakfast was free, which was fine. The breakfast dining area is only accessible via stairs, which is a surprise to someone from NY state where the ADA requirements would make certain this area was accessible to all. Great value for the price.”

“Great location, so close to the Tacoma Dome. The room and staff were great. But the "restaurant" really wasn't. Very small menu of single items that were not even close to a meal. However, the breakfast was great.”

“Our only complaint was the strong perfumy smell in our room. But at least we were able to open our window. We had dinner in the bar downstairs twice; the food was very good - we were a bit surprised at the nice, fresh quality!”

“Only down side was a fire alarm going off at about 6:45am Saturday morning. Room was clean, had everything I needed, breakfast in the morning wasn't awesome, but it was edible (and free!)”

“Normally everytime we stay here for the Monster truck show we are very happy.. However, this time, I accidentally left my wedding ring in the room. No one turned it in. The managers were great and after a big stink the house keeper found it mysteriously in a VACCUM bag.. Really???? there was not one scratch on my ring or anything.. I think she got scared.. I am just thankful I got it bck”

“Location is easy to find and close to everything. Check-in was quick and professional. Clerk even moved us to a room closer to the elevator when discovering we are two older ladies with mobility limitations. Room was clean and well appointed. Only area needing improvement is the room service menu. When ordering dinner we were limited to breakfast or sandwich choices. Upon delivery of our chosen sandwiches however, we were told it was an old menu and dinner fare is now available. Hotel needs to ensure the most current info is available for their guests. Would highly recommend this property and we will be staying again ourselves next time we're in Tacoma.”

“Hotel is easy to locate and close to everything. The front desk staff was excellent offering to change our room for one closer to the elevator when she found out we are older ladies with some mobility issues. The room was very clean and quiet. Only thing I would consider needing improvement was the room service menu. We ordered dinner from it and found only breakfasts or lunch fare. When our sandwiches were delivered, the girl said we had an old menu. Evidentally dinner items are now offered. The rooms should have the current menu available. But over all it was a wonderfull stay. And we will be stayng here again when we go back to explore more of Tacoma.”

“Checking in the front desk staff seemed distracted, but I got the basics I needed. Continental breakfast didn't have any bells and whistles but it was free. Room was clean and pretty quiet considering we were near the elevator & vending. Only sad thing was the one morning I could sleep in the fire alarm went off at 6:45 am. Oh well not the hotel's fault, probably the high school team staying there :)”

“Enjoyed free internet, free parking & a free excellent buffet breakfast. Room was clean and comfortable. We had a view of Commencement Bay. Bathroom tiles were heated which was amazing. The only downer about the stay was that someone burnt a waffle in a waffle machine setting off the fire alarms at 6:30 am...”

“I stayed at the hotel on the recommendation of a friend who had stayed there, & found everything throughout the facility to be exactly what I needed. The desk staff, wait staff, bartender, & the room staff (each of whom actually seemed to be happy, something new in my experience)individually went out of their way to make me welcome & to meet every one of my needs. Outstanding!”

“I would stay there again. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good. Other than that there was not much to rave about but for $80 a night I got exactly what I expected.”

“I stayed with two 13 year olds to see the JB concert at the Dome. The staff was very friendly, helpful and extremely patient dealing with all the overly excited girls. The hotel accomodated the extra flow of people for the concert by opening up a special afternoon buffet 2 hours early, they kept the dining area open past normal hours after the concert and kept the continental breakfast open past their normal serving time the next morning. Our room was clean, beds were comfortable and the convenience of the location could not be beat. ”

“very clean. friendly staff. good breakfast, except low supply of fruit salad. hard time getting a properly working in-room coffee maker. would recommend to other travelers”

“ The room was clean and updated, with the exception of the old tv. The staff was friendly and helpful. I stay here whenever I go to a concert at the Tacoma Dome. A two minute walk from my motel room!”

“Our room was very nice and clean. The houskeeping did an wonderful job. Breakfast was nice and the entire hotel was spotless. We did encounter one problem as we had left an item behind in the room when we checked out. We later called ahead from PHS and stopped on our way out of town to pick up the item. First there was no one on the front desk or seemingly in the hotel. Yelling produced no one. After about 20 minutes we found someone but the item was not to be found. Housekeeping could not be contacted and we had to wait another 20 minutes for the manager to arrive and take care of the problem. All in all we spent nearly an hour that could have been spent on the road back to N. Idaho. I believe that there should always be someone at the front desk to help people and the rest is simply people not listening to the customer. We will still stay at Best Western in the future and would not expect to encounter any problems like this again. Probably a once incident.”

“I was impressed by the cleanliness and the staff was so friendly and went out of their way to help. Only problem was just one elevator working so made for a long wait.I would definitely stay again.”

“The room was nice, lobby attractive, underground parking great, restaurant was not so good. Access to the free downtown trolley and Amtrak station excellent.”

“People at front desk were not very friendly, they charged us an extra $70 for a deposit and said it might take 3-15 days to get back into my bank. I had never heard of that kind of deposit, they usually keep your card number on file but do not charge you a specific amount, food was hardly warm, trains run behind the establishment which did not make for a very peaceful sleep, would not stay there again.”

“We thought the hotel could use a good renovation but was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast included waffles, scrambled eggs and sausages, etc. so quite good for a complimentary breakfast.”

“The room was very nice. My only complaint is the cafe service, It was horrible!! no one even came to our table to take order,we waited for 20 minutes so we had to get the $12.99 buffet ( because we had tickets to a concert) which was WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for what we got, plus it was COLD and tastless. You need to have more help on event days.....”

“My wife and I have stayed at your hotel in the past on our way to the Oregon coast. The exerpience has been generally very good. This time not so much. The reservation was fine; the staff were friendly; but in a hotel that has only 2 elevators there was a problem on FRIDAY morning. At the peak departure/breakfast time (0730 - 0930) I thought it was very poor of the housekeeping staff to comandeer the only remaining elevator. It took us 1o minutes to get an elevator for breakfast and on our return to our room, another 5 minutes. This may seem rather petty, but as I indicated, it iss the small things that matter. The housekeeping staff should have been told to delay until the early morning rush was over. We go to the coast once a year and in future may consider other options in Tacoma. Apart from this little annoyance, the overnight stay was satisfactory.”

“Pros: Staff was great, check in was quick, room was clean, window opened about 6 inches so fresh air could circulate, room fan was so-so but did not work great, Wi-Fi was good, room had a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, iron/board & hair dryer, plenty of lights/lamps in room, shower head was nice and tall for this 6'4" man. Breakfast was standard fair but was good, although with a sold out hotel from the night's concert, there were not enough tables available. Cooks were swamped with all the people eating in the morning. Cons: Bed was hard w/pillows that were little square things that barely fit you head, TV was glued down to the end of the dresser and would not swivel so the person on the left side of the bed could not see it very well, toilet was made for midgets. My knees were up around my shoulders when I sat down....it was like sitting on the floor if you know what I mean? No hot water in the morning for a shower at 10:00am, everybody must have used it all up. ”

“AS EXPECTED THE ROOM WAS GREAT. THE BREAKFAST WAS VERY GOOD. THE SERVICE WAS FANTASTIC!!! I ALSO LIKE HOW THE GUESTS ARE TAKEN CARE OF. NEXT SHOW WE GO TO AT THE TACOMA DOME, WE WILL BE BACK.”

“We booked a room with Double beds. They were tiny double beds. Clean enough. TV kept jumping back to their channel where you had to buy movies, that was frustrating. Disapointed that after the show there really was nothing to do. Our person at reception told us that the bar on site was open after the show and would have music and such so we wouldn't need to find anything to do afterwards. We went there at 12:15, took 15 mintues to get service, the waiter was so ineffecient. Carried one glass at a time back to the bar walking by tables full of empty plates. When he finally did take our order it was a limited bar. He told us beer was $4 and then when we wanted to put it on our room bill he said oh if you give me cash it will only be $3. We had no cash so then when they rang it in to the till it was well over $5.50. Breakfast was good enough for a hot breakfast. Overall it was clean, did not like that there was no shampoo provided, no bathmat either. Hot water was really lacking as well. Not sure if I would stay there again. I think I would get a hotel closer to downtown and take the train to the show.”

“Room very nice, clean, and quite adequate for my needs. Staff was excellent. Check in and out was a breeze. Utilized the business center. Resturant in hotel though limited in selection was welcome option to going out in the cold. Your morning comp breakfast was top notch, especially the fresh fruit. All in all, it was a pleasant stay and I would highly recommend this to any friend. ”

“The driveway was full of ice. The desk people were overwhelmed and not helpful. I had a reservation but was put off 2 hours before I could get my room. The water was cold. The coffee pot was empty and the breakfast line was down the stairs. The room was not comfortable and I had an allergic reaction when the heat came on.”

“Great location, good parking facility, easy access to everything I wanted to do in Olympia, Tacoma, Seattle and Puyallup. Nice room, clean and quiet. Key machine not working was a royal pain several days but eventually it was fixed. Coffee machine was lousy - coffee packets made one cup at a time but my pot said 4 cups??! It was lousy but the breakfast was very nice downstairs.”

“Very clean, hotel staff were great as was room service and they had a wonderful breakfast! The bed was almost like being at home and the heat/air worked great. ”

“Recently stayed here to avoid long drive back to Seattle after show. Finally! A hotel that doesn't try to fight a revenue source (concert crowd). The hotel was ready when the show let out. People staying at hotel were given the option of the bar open till 2am, kitchen was ready and prepared a limited menu. Servers were friendly. Good job management and employees. The one night stay however was way overpriced for the location.”

“We were in town to spend a day at the museums downtown and it was very convenient... to the freeway, to town and the view of the bay was nice.”

“The stay at the Tacoma Dome hotel was very good and always has been. It's a good location for concert goers and the staff is very helpful in accomodating their guests. The only flaw that I have about this hotel is the price you pay for a room that you could get half price for if you stayed at a Motel 6. The room was very over priced for the type of room that we got.”

“The rewards program is a SCAM!! hotels only available on Tuesdays or mid-week sometimes.. Have been trying to use voucher. Next to impossible. Not available on nice hotels.ect.. Customer service sucks, they are not interested.. ”

“Even though there were a couple of negatives about the hotel, (remodeling the lobby floor and the view from my room overlooked a field where there was a lot of trash dumped), the rooms were very clean and the staff ( the desk clerks , the continental breakfast hostess, and even the room maids) went out of their way to help us. I would recommend this hotel to others and will stay there again when I'm in Tacoma.”
