“The ground floor for smoking rooms wasn't very nice. I was surprised how bad it smelled like cigarettes. The room needed updating. The pillows were very small considering we had a king bed too. Most hotels offer flat screen tvs, updated rooms, and don't smell as bad for the price we paid. ”

“The rooms were very clean and staff great. The beds could have been more comfortable ,mattresses very hard. The elevator was scary: noisy and slow .we had breakfast at the hotel and it was great!”

“the service was excellent however the food from the restaurant for room service was horrid. I had a steak, but what animal it was from I could not say. Even the mashed potatos were clumpy and runny. The "blanket" on the bed probably saw time in the second world war and there was a musty smell in the halls. The place needs a refurbishment though I understand with the economy the way it is, such things may not be practical. the movies weren't available when I wanted to watch, except once. For a premium priced hotel I experienced very average to low average accommodations. The towels were tiny and rough and there aren't even internet services in the room. If I was staying at a Days Inn (ack!@) or a Red Roof (double ack) I would have expected such things, but not at Paramount. I will say that the people working for the hotel are outstanding, helpful, cheerful and accommodating.”

“The room was adequate. No mirrors though, except in the bathroom. I took advantage of a reduced price for a higher grade room, and it really wasn't. Though we had a verranda, the sliding door would not open, and the view of the lake was obstructed by bushes and trees that had not been pruned in quite some time (it appeared). Elevators seem more like service elevators, without air conditioning, and very, very slow. We ended up taking the stairs. The front desk staff, however, were superb; friendly and very helpful.”

“The Paramount Plaza in Gainesville, FL is a wonderful older hotel. The staff were extremely helpful, the rooms were older, however very clean. The pool and grounds are also very clean and the lounge and food were great. I would recommend this site for anyone looking for a place to stay in Gainesville.”
