Affordable Activities to do in Honolulu

A vacation in Honolulu might already cost families a lot in terms of air fare and accommodations. However, many attractions unique in Honolulu are affordable, some even free, if families and visitors know just where to go and look.

1. The Diamond Head

A visit to the Diamond Head is free especially if visitors have their own cars or can rent an affordable car or easily commute for cheap. The attraction is cheap but the sights are one of a kind.

2. USS Arizona Memorial Tour

This tour chronicles the attack on Pearl Harbor that started the involvement of the United States in World War II. Offered tours are free.

3. Bishop Museum

The Bishop Museum houses the best collection of Hawaiian artifacts in the world only for a small fee.

4. The Punchbowl Cemetery Memorial Tour

These walking tours are affordable and are offered daily.

5. Honolulu Academy of Arts

This place shows visitors a number of important works for an affordable price.

6. Honolulu Zoo

See a wide array of animal species for only a small entrance fee.

7. Free Shows

There are free shows in Honolulu, just know of their schedule. One of the best free shows in Waikiki is the Augie Rey at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel at Poolside. Other poolside performances are offered in Sheraton Waikiki including the Ku’uipo Kumukabi with Aloha and Halau Na, Maika’I Trio with Aloha and Halau Na, and Aloha Friday Pau Hana. Free firewords display by the beach and pool are also offered every Friday night at sunset by the Hilton Hawaiian Village.

Don’t forget also to stroll through the streets of Waikiki for various free street performances.
