The Golden Gate Bridge
The Golden Gate Bridge is the iconic landmark of San Francisco. It is 2.7 kilometers long and, for a long time, was the world’s longest suspension bridge since its completion in 1937. It was not until 1964 that this record was surpassed by the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. It is painted in International Orange, an almost red shade.
Visitors can enjoy while learning with the hands on science and art exhibits all over the Exploratorium. There are more than 650 exhibits, including bubble bombs and salt volcanoes.
Grace Cathedral is a gothic church well known for its beauty. Around this cathedral are various curling dragon statues and beautiful gardens. Its pulpit had been graced by many notable personas, including the Dalai Lama and Martin Luther King, Jr.
Visitors to San Francisco can enjoy a fun day of shopping at Pier 39, a colorful festival marketplace. This is the best place to hang out and enjoy spectacular views of the bay.

Alcatraz Island had once been home to the famous maximum security federal prison of Alcatraz. Today, this historic site has been converted to a national park. Visitors can see for themselves the cells that once held convicts.
