Tee off in winning form at ChampionsGate by the RoomStays Editorial Team on Oct 20, 2010 Make your own contribution

Located southwest of Walt Disney Resort, ChampionsGate is a premier golf destination providing close proximity to Orlando attractions and leisure activities. Feel every bit of a champion while playing in the 36-hole course designed by no less than champion golfer Greg Norman.

Golf community

ChampionsGate is a planned community that offers a complete golf vacation package. Imagine having to play like a pro in the championship course and live comfortably in a resort villa of your own. Whether you are an expert or aiming to be one, staying in this popular golf resort will definitely enhance your playing experience. And you don’t need to be alone as the resort caters to families with its leisure programs and facilities for volleyball, tennis and basketball.

Drive towards Disney and other theme parks

One of the best features of ChampionsGate is that the wonderful world of Disney theme parks is only a ten-minute drive away. Thus, it makes an ideal base for fun and recreation in Orlando, especially with International Drive also easily accessible from ChampionsGate. I-Drive, as it is often called, provides an eyeful of exciting and family-friendly recreational centers. More importantly, there are six popular enormous theme parks to visit, namely SeaWorld, Discovery Cove, Wet ‘n Wild, Universal Studios, Aquatica SeaWorld’s Waterpark and Islands of Adventure. Ripley’s Believe It or Not and Wonder Works are likewise located on I-Drive, for more amusement ideas.

Shopping and Nightlife

Within four minutes from ChampionsGate, International Drive also boasts a multitude of trendy shops and nightlife entertainment. Go shopping in places like Festival Bay Mall and Pointe Orlando. Orlando’s premium outlets found in I-Drive and Vineyard Avenue also present numerous options for retail therapy. As the sun sets, enjoy dining at Orlando’s restaurants and sit down to a rousing family entertainment show. There are several bars and clubs for anyone who’s looking to paint the town red as well.

golf all you can :)

ChampionsGate is not exactly a city or town, rather it is this place where golf is the name of the game.

The place is just close to the Walt Disney Resort, so if I were staying at the resort, I would grab a few hours and let the kids enjoy the resort while I relax and tee off.

The place is really great, I heard that a lot of known golf enthusiasts visit ChampionsGate, but so far I have not yet seen one. The place is magnificent and well constructed. Of course, I would not doubt the beauty of it since it was Greg Norman who put it up.

What I like most about it is that Disney World is not the only theme park nearby, but there is also SeaWorld, Universal Studios, and more.
