Cape Cod’s unique seascape and geography makes it ideal for all types of beach goers. There are calm, quiet beaches with low waves but there are also those with fierce, big waves.
Coast Guard Beach in Eastham is constantly included in the list of America’s best beaches. It features beautiful sand dunes, breathtaking coast, and great waves ideal for swimming and surfing. It is a very popular beach, so it could get really crowded at any given day.
Cockle Cove is a quiet beach with calm waves. The warm waters of Nantucket Sound are well loved by swimmers while the gentle waves attract windsurfers and kayakers. It is a long, narrow beach so you’ll be able to find a space easily.
East Sandwich Beach is a quiet beach with a beautiful and long stretch of beach. It features soft sand that sunbathers love and calm waters ideal for those traveling with kids. It is a peaceful beach and is not as crowded as its popular counterparts.
Cahoon Hollow features a big beach with a dramatic and dangerous landscape attracts young adults who come to the area for adventure. Scary sand dunes with steep paths run a considerable length down to the beach. Considered a dangerous beach, it is not ideal for young children and older adults.
Herring Cove offers some of the best sunsets on the Cape. Located right at the tip of the Cape, it offers spectacular views. The left side of the beach is considered gay friendly.
