Top Shopping Districts in Miami

With its hot sun, white sandy beaches and beach-like atmosphere, it is no wonder that people flock to Miami especially during summers. The city is also known to have excellent shopping destinations. From luxurious items to bargain deals, Miami has it. These districts in Miami are the perfect destination for a serious shopping spree or window shopping.

1. Bayside Marketplace

Located in downtown Miami, Bayside Marketplace offers 16 acres of waterfront shopping. This urban safari, which attracts about 15 million tourists every year, is home to around 100 shops from major branded boutiques to specialty stores and artisan stalls. It also has a good selection of entertainment and dining options.

2. Bal Harbour Shops

If there is a place in Miami to splurge and indulge, Bal Harbour Shops should be that place. Located in Bal Harbour, a wealthy neighborhood in the city, this open-air shopping destination has over 100 luxury stores from European to American luxurious labels.

3. Design District

Hailed as the country’s “Mecca of Furniture”, Design District is the shopping area where to find high-end and the trendiest furniture, home interiors and decors. This neighborhood is home to more than 130 showrooms, antique stores, art galleries and other establishments. Visit the area during the second Saturday of the month from 7 to 10 p.m. in time for the Art & Design Night where art galleries and design showrooms leave their doors open for the public with refreshments and music to with.

4. Miami Malls

There are quite a number of malls in Miami for this shopping-loving city. Among the favorite malls is Aventura Mall. This supermall is home to over 250 shops and other establishments from high-end designer boutiques to national chains and gift shops. Other interesting malls in the city include the Sawgrass Mills Mall, the largest mall in Florida; the open-air CoCoWalk mall in Coconut Grove; Dolphin Mall; and The Falls.

5. South Beach shopping districts

South Beach is home to a number of trendy shopping neighborhoods. Most notable of these is the Lincoln Road shopping district, home to the Lincoln Road Mall and Lincoln Road Market. Also notable are the stretch of shopping boutiques from expensive to medium-prices shopping in Collins Avenue District, and the hip, unique and funky stores along Ocean Drive.
